Funding

Changes to the Government Funding - The New Child Care Package.

The Australian Government's New Child Care Package (Jobs for Families Child Care Package) is commencing from 2nd July 2018. This will result in a number of changes to how child care subsidies are paid in Australia.

The new Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will be one payment made directly to your Child Care Provider (us) and then passed through to families. The percentage that you will be eligible to receive will be based on three factors:

  1. Combined family income
  2. Activity level of families - activity level is the 'recognised activities' that enables a family to claim a subsidy (eg: work, study or training) up to a maximum of 100 hours per fortnight based on the parent with the least number of hours
  3. Type of childcare - for children that attend Melbourne Juniors this is 'Long Day Care'.

We encourage all our families to review this 'Subsidy Estimator' on the Australian Government website here so that you are well informed on what this change means for you.

Alternatively, you can use this quick CCS (Childcare subsidy) calculator.
